What is SpecView99?

  SpecView99 is just a Speccy screenshot viewer. It was written for all Speccy fans and must be distributed for free. This version (1.21) has minor bugfixes.

System Requirements

- a 486DX (or better) processor;
- 8 Megs of RAM to start Windows 95;
- about 200K on your hard drive;
- HiColor SVGA video card (256-color ones show distorted pictures).

  NOTE, that this program was not tested to work under Windows NT properly!


How to...


... view a Speccy screen?

  Just press the open button (CTRL-O on your keyboard). You'll see the standard Open Dialog. You can also associate Speccy screens with SpecView99 using Windows Explorer or run this viewer via command line.

... create a new SpecView99 window?

  Press CTRL-N on your keyboard. You'll get a new SpecView99 window. The old window relocates to the left at this case, but you can disable this feature by pressing CTRL-R.

... make a BMP file out of Speccy picture?

  Wow, that's simple. Press CTRL-E on your keyboard or the Export speedbutton. You'll see the standard Save Dialog. Enter the desired BMP file name, then click OK. The picture you've previously opened will be saved as a 16-color bitmap file.


Miscellaneous

  The 'About' button (Shift-F1) displays copyright information.
The F1 key starts your default WEB browser, so you can view this readme.
You can also press CTRL-F1 or SHIFT-CTRL-F1 to visit SpecView99 support sites on the Internet for updates.
